LEAP OF FAITH

Look in the mirror
What do I see
Not afraid to face the real me
Paint a picture
How it's supposed to be
Not afraid to face the real me

G onna take a leap of faith
Gonna learn to believe
In what love can do

Gonna dance in the dark
Gonna hold on to the spark
It brings me to you
Gonna take a leap of faith

Walk the road, mile away
Carry the weight of the world
On my shoulders this way

The Story Behind the Song "Leap of Faith"

Leap of Faith, a term used to describe ultimately the great leap of belief in oneself, the test of one's true faith.  It seems nowadays you pick up a paper or turn on the news and things are just so crazy.  Nobody loves nobody anymore.

It seems to me that if people would get up every day and just stand in front of a mirror and look at themselves and point at themselves and say, "I believe in you!", and you take that leap of faith, and you move forward...step into the new day.

I love to sometimes as an artist paint a picture in my head.  And I sometimes want to pick up a paint brush and paint beginnings and endings to things.  I think it would be so cool if we could paint things the way we wanted them to be.

But again, sometimes we have to dance in the dark, trusting the nature of things, believing in them.  We have to hold on to that spark that brings me to you.  We have to take that leap of faith.  Feels as though it's something that we've forgotten for a while now, but it is important to learn to believe in what love can do.

On the album cover for "Takes Two," there are two hands reaching out towards each other.  In my head I always felt that that was more connected to this song than to the album cover.
